About the cook: Jared Bourgeois
I was raised in Lutcher, Louisiana, a small town on the Mississippi River midway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. My Waguespack grandparents were commercial fisherman and kept our freezer stocked with shrimp, crawfish & catfish, and my Bourgeois grandparents had an extensive vegetable garden. Everyone in the family knows how to cook and I incorporate little bits of all their recipes in mine. I’m an alumnus of the University of Louisiana Lafayette and I spent ten years in the “Heart of Cajun Country”, which has, in my opinion, the best food in the world! Since moving to Virginia in 2004, I’ve kept my friends well fed on authentic cajun food!
